Something different....

I've so much to get finished by the week-end, so you'll understand why I can't chat today...

I do have something else for you all to enjoy.

My daughter and her boyfriend went to the Kruger Game reserve and she sent me amazing photos and videos to watch....

He also asked her to marry him........Yaaay!

What's on your desk this week?

Hi all

Do you remember that I started making snapshots....
Well, at last I've found time to get busy with them again.
They measure 10".

This was the first snapshot.
'A view of the windows'

I wanted to make something 'different', and with a feel of 'modern' too

This is the 'Delicious Monster Leaf' snapshot

I found all its pieces waiting patiently for me, and when I saw it - I smiled....

I still feel the same way as I did when I started them, so now I'm going to pull my finger and get working on them again...

Im using up scraps of fabrics with this project too, so I have to be content to use patterned fabrics mixed in with solids and batiks.

*** People asked about the Van Gogh Night Cafe pattern Im making....
Its a commissioned work for someone and I won't be able to sell the pattern in Craftsy.

You can always just drop me an email if you're interested. It measures 30x36" (77x92cm).

Wonkies Finish!!

Hi there everyone...

AT LAST!

I've finished the Wonky Neighbourhood Top!!

It really did go together quickly - I just have too many projects in the line-up...
Slowly I will finish them all...

This was the Wonky Neighbours 24" (62cm) start of things...

It really just needed something to finish it off - so the borders were added to the middle and now it measures 40" (129cm).

Then you can always add a border to all that too...
and then we can always go back and add more houses.....

NO just kidding...

And here we have the finished top.
The borders added 8" to each side and then I found the strips in the scrap bin, so they had to get used too.
I'm thinking of buying polar fleece for the back to help with the 'cozy-ness' factor.

Now I better get myself moving as I have to finish a few more commissions....

and the next issue on our Paper Piecing Digital Magazine...

WIP Wednesdays....

Hello Everyone!!

I've been so busy getting the Paper Piecing magazine
patterns ready for the end of the month....
The Summer issue is always sooooo cute!!

My Landscape Rows are also taking shape with our
Row #4 getting done...

This is our Row #4 - it has a Forest feel to it.
Each row measures 12 x 40" and is on the Easy Intermediate level.

The row is divided into 4 blocks and this is the first one....

The "little rocks" at the water edge had me hum-ing and ha-ing if I should use it or not. I'm usually not really a person who likes to use that kind of 'texture' fabrics.

Slowly I will get myself out of that "only use solids" mindset....

Here's block 2 of the row...
The waterfall part is done.... yaay.

NO idea why there's such a build up in my mind and then once you're busy its all...... was that it?
Who knows.....

Well, that's it....
I hope you're all busy with your Landscape rows.....

You can post them straight onto my FB page if you like....
Use the Quilt Art Designs page

Here's a "Take Note of the Date" for you all.....
A week of 'Festive - ity' in July and a "Peek" at all the Christmas patterns and plans ....

Tis Friday....already....

Jeepers but this week just flew by and its already Friday...
I think my head is somewhere around Wednesday.

I've been sewing my Wonky Neighbours Border on and off between all the housework. I've been showing the house how to do it for years now, but no, it will not do it on its own.....

So far its 2 sides done and now Im eager to just finish it up...

Have a great Week - End!!

WIP Wednesday

I've been so busy with designing new blocks.....
some of them for the BOM and others for
Christmas ... already....

and I've managed to sew my first block on the new Landscape Row #4

The first part of the Forest landscape is done and I found a light aqua fabric for the background with a tiny pattern - almost looks like it could be raining or even snowing....

Very easy to put together block

Wonky Neighbours Border

Hello all...

I've had such a rubbish head cold this past week. I tried so hard to avoid it when my son was sneezing and coughing, but it seems it knew exactly where to find me....
I just hate that feeling of being so 'slow in the head' and everything is such an issue.....

Anyhoo.....

I wanted to show that I was also busy sewing my Wonky Neighbours Border for the wonky mini quilt I made.

I have so many scraps and I feel bad throwing some of them out, so these kind of projects are just what was called for. Unfortunately the bigger scraps have now just become some smaller scraps and I still don't want to throw them out. (Im talking about a 4 to 5" piece) You can always use them - somewhere.....

This is the plan - the eventual finished Wonky Neighbourhood .....

The centre measures 24" and the borders 8" each side. Altogether 40" and then another solid border of 2" each side.

The sewing part is going together very quickly which suits me just fine...

This is where we are at the moment.
Im thinking of adding another border around this part before I add the wonky house border.

Not long now..... This is the almost done top border.
Thank heavens it super easy.

***********************************
I was also behind my computer making our next BOM block for July..... its super cute!!!
and then I also made this one...

This is "cat sleeping on a quilt"

I just love looking at photos with a cat assistant helping out with a quilt....

 I miss my assistant ....

The great thing about EQ7 is the adding of fabrics to your design. It really gives it a different feel.

I've already added this pattern (24x30" - 62x76cm) to my Craftsy Shop.

If you have any photos you would like to share, you can always link them to our Flickr group.
Thanks
